Rat Rig Mill main wiring - BETA

This page contains the necessary information to wire the AC circuit of a Rat Rig Mill, always double check evey connection and wiring diagram.
‍
NOTE: This is a beta product, the comprehensive step-by-step guide is still being developed and refined. We welcome any feedback you may have. Once the official kit is released, the complete documentation will be made available.

⚠️WARNING!

Before beginning this guide, ensure that the machine is powered off and disconnected from the mains outlet.

Before getting started - How to crimp

Ensuring good crimps on 230V/110V circuits is critical for both safety and performance. Crimps provide a secure and stable connection between electrical wires and terminals, essential in preventing loose connections that can lead to overheating, short circuits, or electrical fires. A properly executed crimp ensures low resistance and high conductivity, which is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and reliability of the electrical system.

Prepare the following parts:

Prepare the following wires as demonstrated below:
1x Wire - AC Power - 18AWG YELLOWGREEN - 120mm (Spade - Fork)
1x Wire - AC Power - 18AWG BROWN - 120mm (Spade - Fork)
1x Wire - AC Power - 18AWG BROWN - 80mm (Spade - Spade)
1x Wire - AC Power - 18AWG BLUE - 120mm (Spade - Fork)

⚠️WARNING!

Never connect the power cord to the IEC without finishing all connections and installing the AC cover. Triple-check all connections, as a misplaced wire can cause serious damage and injurie.

Install the mains power wires

Install the 230V/110V wires, ensuring the fork connector is on the power supply end of the wires and the spade connector is fully inserted into the IEC.

Before connecting it to power, pull on the cables to verify if all connectors are secure!

Connect the VFD+spindle (advanced bundle only)

Install a fork connector to every bare wire during this stage.
You will need to connect the mains power of the VFD to your desired electrical point. (The VFD can draw up to 10A (230V) or 13.6A(110V) !!!!)
Pull on the cables to verify if all connectors are secure!

⚠️ Warning for users in countries with 110V Mains

Before connecting the power cable, inspect its rating. Ensure the cable is labeled with the correct voltage and current ratings for your electrical installation. If you are uncertain about which power cable to use, seek advice from a certified electrician. Rat Rig recommends using a power cable rated for 20A.
