00. Preparations

Several parts need to be prepared and semi-assembled to improve the workflow.

01. Frame Assembly

Carefully assemble the frame as squareness is critical for smooth operation, take your time during the next steps.

02. Z-Axis assemblies

The Z motors are responsible for the up and down movement of the bed and consequent layer stacking.

03. Linear rails

Linear rails on all axis ensure precise and stiff movement. Be sure to prepare your rails in order to obtain a smooth motion system.

04. core xy idler assemblies

The idler assemblies maintain a smooth and strong pivot point for the belts.

05. corexy motor assemblies

The motors need a structure that enables them to transfer their rotational power to the belts.

06. x-axis assembly

A heavy-duty platform for the toolhead to speed through!

07. Bed arm assemblies

These bed arms work their magic when performing the 3-point kinematic bed levelling.

08. Bed & Y-Axis Endstop Assemblies

These bed arms work their magic when performing the 3-point kinematic bed levelling.

Select your EVA configuration

Upon the initial supply of EVA 3.0 in PETG, the hex nut version stood as the preferred configuration. However, Rat Rig's transition of all printed parts to ABS has led to the current assembly of EVA 3.0 utilizing heat inserts.

EVA HEX NUT

09. EVA 3.0 hex nut Assembly

EVA is a 3D printing carriage platform revolving around accessibility - the goal is to give the power of choice to the users by enabling as many options for carriage hardware as possible.

10. EVA 3.0 heat insert Assembly

EVA is a 3D printing carriage platform revolving around accessibility - the goal is to give the power of choice to the users by enabling as many options for carriage hardware as possible.

11. X-Axis Gantry Alignment

The X-Axis gantry needs to be perpendicular to the Y rails, the following steps will help you acomplish that.

12. Accessories

The accessories described in this guide will make your experience with the V-Core 3.1 much more enjoyable.
