The advanced electronics bundle contemplates the Rodent + 2.2KW Spindle, follow the wiring guide below:
Identifying Motor phases
If your motors were acquired at Rat Rig, you don’t need to worry about motor pinout, simply follow our wiring diagrams. If you sourced your motors elsewhere, you need to identify their pinout to avoid damage to the board. You can identify the motor pinout using either a LED diode or a piece of wire. Short two pins like on the example below and then rotate the shaft by hand. When shorting a phase the LED will light up or - if you’re using the wire method - rotating the shaft will become much harder.
Basic electronics bundle
The Rodent Board is the preferred configuration for the Rat Rig Mill as it is fully supported by FluidNC.
Advanced electronics bundle
The Rodent Board is the preferred configuration for the Rat Rig Mill as it is fully supported by FluidNC. Pay close attention to the VFD connections.
⚠️WARNING! Watercooling
Please remember to assemble and install the water cooling hoses and pump for the spindle.
Mains Power
This guide covers the AC wiring for the Rat Rig Mill,
Before proceeding with any AC 230V wire connections, it is crucial to understand the risks involved. Alternating Current (AC) at 230V / 110V is a high voltage that can cause severe injury or even death if not handled correctly. This type of electrical work is highly dangerous and should only be performed by a licensed professional.By using this guide, you acknowledge the following:
